How can I participate?

Participating in NYLine's Stand-a-thon means that as an NYLine member, you will "earn" your place in line and the right to purchase a ticket to the May 19 midnight premiere by lining up at NYC's historic Ziegfeld Theater starting Saturday April 30.

Our group of up to 350 Line Members is admitted hours ahead of the public on opening night, and the order in which we enter and choose our seats is determined through our Stand-A-Thon benefit/competition.

We line up in shifts, so you can choose from available blocks of time which best suit you. Each shift has a point value assigned to it, based on the difficulty of the shift. You need to accumulate a minimum of 60 points to earn your place in line.

While members can get there by spending as few as 12 hours on West 54th Street, prizes and preferential seating will be awarded to the NYLine members logging the most time in front of the Ziegfeld in combination with those raising the most money in our Stand-A-Thon benefitting the Starlight Starbright Children's Foundation.

Our shift schedule is packed with fun Star Wars events, games and activites. Lining up means fun and friendship — not just laying on the sidewalk!

Registration

Registration to participate in NYLine III will occur in mid-to-late March, but it's never too early to start planning. The tentative shift schedule is available here; you will notice that each shift has a point value. After signing up and paying $15 to participate in NYLine, you will need to spend enough time lining up at the Ziegfeld to earn a minimum of 60 points to receive your ticket to the opening-night screening.*

In addition, NYLine members are strongly encouraged to use their time on the line to raise money and awareness for the Starlight Starbright Children's Foundation by participating in the Stand-A-Thon. Using the pledge form, try to get friends, family and co-workers to sponsor you for every hour you spend at the line. The money raised will go to the Starlight Starbright Children's Foundation Fun Center Program, and the top fund-raisers will receive a commemorative t-shirt designed and printed exclusively for Stand-A-Thon Participants.

NYLine members who earn the most points between April 30 and May 18 and raise the most money for Starlight Starbright will be in the running for prizes, and the point and cash totals will be used to determine the order in which members are let into the theater to select their seats for the midnight screening.
